Safety: Resources and Training

All researchers (faculty, research scientist/engineer, postdoctoral scholar, graduate student, undergraduate researcher, visiting researcher, volunteers) affiliated with CEE and working in a laboratory must complete the Lab Safety Orientation training PRIOR to working in the lab.

Note: this is the minimum required safety training; your specific lab may require additional training depending upon your research.

  • Laboratory Safety Orientation Training (this is an online course, approximately 80 min. in duration): Laboratory Training Registration
  • Additional Safety Training Assessment:  Training Needs Assessment
  • In addition to safety training, all researchers must review and sign the Chemical & Environmental Engineering Chemical Hygiene Plan.  A hard copy of the CHP is present in each department research lab. A pdf version of the CHP is available here: CEE Chemical Hygiene Plan
