Bryan R. Goldsmith represents the outstanding achievements of UC Riverside alumni in chemical engineering. After earning his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from UC Riverside in 2010, Bryan pursued his Ph.D. at the University of California, Santa Barbara, completing his doctorate in 2015 with a focus on computational catalysis and materials design. Following his graduate studies, Bryan joined the University of Michigan’s Department of Chemical Engineering, where he has built a distinguished academic career. In September 2023, he was appointed Associate Professor and Associate Chair for Graduate Education, reflecting his leadership in research and education. Bryan’s research integrates computational modeling, machine learning, and quantum chemistry to design catalysts and materials for sustainable energy and chemical processes. His work has earned recognition for advancing the understanding of catalytic mechanisms and accelerating the discovery of new materials. From his beginnings at UC Riverside to his current role shaping graduate education and research at a top-tier institution, Bryan Goldsmith’s journey highlights the transformative impact of UCR’s Chemical and Environmental Engineering program.
